1988 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 at No Reserve

This 1988 Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3 has remained registered in California from new through the seller’s purchase in 2025, and it now shows 58k miles. Powered by a 2.3-liter inline-four mated to a four-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic over brown MB-Tex upholstery. Equipment includes 15″ Gullideckel wheels, a sunroof, front bucket seats, central locking, automatic climate control, and cruise control. Work completed under current ownership has included replacing the brake pads, front struts, tie rods, lower ball joints, engine mounts, transmission mounts, and valve cover gasket. This W201 is offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

This example is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) with black bumper trim and side moldings. Equipment includes halogen headlights, a sunroof, deep-ribbed taillights, asymmetrical side mirrors, and a single panoramic windshield wiper. The seller believes that the roof and trunk have been refinished, and close-up photographs of the exterior finish and trim are shown in the gallery below.

The 15″ Gullideckel wheels are mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires. The car features a MacPherson strut front and five-link rear suspension with coil springs at each corner, and stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The front struts, tie rods, lower ball joints, and brake pads were replaced in 2025.

The cabin features front bucket seats upholstered in brown MB-Tex, and Zebrano wood trim accents the center stack and console. Equipment includes central locking, power windows, automatic climate control, and cruise control. The air conditioning system and Becker stereo do not work, and there is damaged trim on the driver’s seat.

The four-spoke airbag steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and fuel economy. The six-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.

Power is provided by a 2.3-liter SOHC inline-four that was factory rated at 130 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. The oil was changed and the engine mounts, transmission mounts, and valve cover gasket were replaced in 2025.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage.
