2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 Camper Conversion

This Arctic White 2008 Dodge Sprinter 2500 was purchased by its current owner in 2021 and subsequently converted for use as a camper. Powered by a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, it has rooftop solar panels, a 2,000-watt inverter, a bank of house batteries, and holding tanks. The living quarters are outfitted with maple paneling, custom cabinets, a 12-volt refrigerator, a propane stove, and an enclosed shower and toilet. This Sprinter has 172k miles and is offered by the seller with service records from current ownership and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

Exterior details include tinted glass, a sliding right-side door, rear barn doors, stone guards, and a receiver hitch. The 16″ alloy wheels are finished in black and mounted with Michelin tires. Stopping power is from four-wheel disc brakes. Damage to the rear is listed in a 2009 entry on the Carfax report, which also lists unspecified damage in a 2019 entry, and damage to the front in an April 2022 entry.

Two 100-watt solar panels, a bank of deep-cycle batteries, and a Renogy 2000-watt pure sine wave inverter were added during the build, and a SeeLevel II holding tank monitoring system is connected to a 30-gallon freshwater tank, a 20-gallon gray water tank, and a 12-gallon black water tank.

The front cabin has gray cloth upholstery, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, and power-adjustable side mirrors. Aftermarket equipment includes a rearview camera, Rockford Fosgate 6.5″ speakers, Hertz Dieci tweeters, and a Kenwood Excelon 6.75″ touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer indicates 172k miles, approximately 13k of which were added by the current owner.

Lined with sound deadening material as well as thermal insulation, the customized interior is outfitted with birch cabinets, soft-close drawers, Formica countertops, LED lighting, a Maxx Air ventilation fan, a stainless-steel sink, a propane water heater, a two-burner propane stove, and a Dometic 12-volt refrigerator. The seating area converts into a double bed, and a slide-out section provides additional counter space. The rear bathroom is enclosed by a curtain and contains a Thetford flushing toilet and a shower.

Barn doors provide access to a rear compartment that features maple paneling on the walls and ceiling.

The 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 sends power to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission.
