This kinetic display was created by the seller in 2025 using a 5.7-liter LS6 V8 engine that was sourced from a C5 Corvette. Portions of the engine block were cut away to allow for observation of the moving internal components, which are driven by a speed-adjustable DC gearmotor. The display is mounted to a wood platform adorned with LS6 badges. This kinetic engine display is now offered with a certificate of authenticity in San Jose, California.

The LS6 V8 engine was disassembled, and portions were cut away before the components were media-blasted and machined. A mix of mirror-painted, vapor-honed, nickel-plated and polished finishes were applied before the parts were reassembled. A stainless-steel timing chain was installed along with ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene dry-running piston sleeves.

The rotating assembly is turned by a Dayton DC gearmotor and speed controller, a Morse torque-limiting clutch, a timing belt drive, and two circuit breakers. The mechanism is surrounded by two removable sections of the aluminum oil pan to allow for servicing. The display has a standard computer power entry module (PEM) with a detachable cord, and the variable speed controller can be adjusted between 10 and 60 RPM.

Casting number 12561168 is consistent with an LS6 engine block.

LS6 badges accent both ends of the walnut base, which has a hand-applied oil finish. The display is supported by four vertical posts, and the complete assembly measures approximately 20″ wide by 27″ deep by 22″ tall and weighs 215 pounds. The seller states that the top edges of the cylinder heads can support a table surface.
