This 2009 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR is #54 of 712 examples produced for the model year, and it was purchased new by the current owner, who has added its 2,900 miles. The car is powered by a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transmission and is finished in Brilliant Silver over Dark Charcoal leather. King of the Road equipment includes an SVT-tuned suspension, carbon-fiber body parts, Brembo front brake calipers, and a revised H-pipe exhaust system. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, HID headlights, 18″ polished Alcoa wheels, a Shaker 500 sound system, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. This Shelby GT500KR is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with Ford and Shelby window stickers, a Shelby American Vehicle Authenticity Certificate, the owner’s manual, a clean Carfax report, and a California title in the owner’s name.

“King of the Road” examples left the Ford assembly line as standard GT500s and were upgraded by the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. This example is finished in Brilliant Silver (UI) with blue over-the-top and side stripes, and exterior features include HID headlights, fog lights, a rear spoiler, Shelby badging, polished exhaust outlets, and a carbon-fiber front splitter, mirror caps, and vented hood with satin chrome-finished hood pins. The left door has a scratch, and dings are noted.

Polished 18″ Alcoa wheels are mounted with Michelin tires that were recently installed and show date codes from 2024. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with Brembo front calipers. The Shelby GT500KR package added SVT-tuned suspension components including enhanced springs, struts, shocks, and sway bars as well as a strut tower brace.

The cabin features front sport bucket seats upholstered in Dark Charcoal leather with embossed Shelby Cobra logos on the backrests. “GT500KR” and Shelby signature embroidery accent the headrests, and further interior equipment includes a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a Shaker 500 sound system, navigation, ambient lighting, a Ford Racing short-throw shifter and shifter ball, a CD stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning.

A serialized dashboard plaque identifies this car as the 54th Shelby GT500KR produced for the 2009 model year.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline as well as gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, boost pressure, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 2,900 miles.

The supercharged 5.4-liter DOHC V8 was factory rated at 540 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. GT500KRs are equipped with the Ford Racing Power Upgrade kit with an air-intake system and a revised H-pipe exhaust system. An oil change was recently performed.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to The Ford Store of Morgan Hill, California, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $46,890. A Shelby window sticker and Vehicle Authenticity Certificate are also included in the sale.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage.
The California title is listed as a duplicate.
