This 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury two-door hardtop coupe has been fitted with a 426ci Max Wedge V8 and a four-speed manual transmission. Finished in black over red and white vinyl upholstery, the car is equipped with American Racing 15” wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes and rear drums, power steering, Vintage Air climate control, front bucket seats, a center console, a Hurst shifter, a custom tachometer, an AM radio, lap belts, red carpeting, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, and a dual exhaust system. The current owner purchased the vehicle in 1999. This Sport Fury is now offered on dealer consignment with a copy of a partial broadcast sheet and a salvaged California title.
The car is painted black, and exterior details include quad headlights, a “426” hood ornament, bright side moldings and other trim, a driver-side mirror, and chrome bumpers.
American Racing Torq Thrust 15″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires measuring 225/60 in front and 245/60 at the rear. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums; the power-brake booster was rebuilt in 2021. The tires were replaced in 2023, and the ball joints, control-arm bushings, tie-rod ends, and a strut-rod bushing were replaced that same year.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in red and white vinyl, which carries over to the door and side panels. The center console anchors a Hurst T-handle shifter and a Chevrolet-sourced quartz-movement clock. Vintage Air Gen IV Magnum climate control was installed in 2022. Other interior equipment includes an AM radio, a heater, a locking glovebox, front and rear lap belts, sun visors, red carpeting, and carpeted floor mats.
The steering wheel has a horn ring and fronts a custom 8k-rpm tachometer and a Sun oil-pressure gauge as well as a 120-mph speedometer and readouts for coolant temperature, fuel level, and alternator status. The five-digit odometer shows 46k miles, approximately 2k of which have been added since 1999.
The 426ci Max Wedge V8 was rebuilt in 2002 and installed in this car. The engine is augmented by chrome rocker covers, a chrome air-cleaner lid, an auxiliary electric cooling fan, and a dual exhaust system. The fuel tank was cleaned in 2021, and six freeze plugs were replaced in 2024. Documentation indicates that the car was originally powered by a 361ci V8.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission that was installed under current ownership.
