This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL was purchased new by American comedian and director Dick Martin at Downtown L.A. Motors in California and now shows 141k miles following history in California and Arizona. The roadster is finished in Signal Red over Palomino leather and is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 linked with a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include a replacement black soft top, a removable hardtop, chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel wheels, and an Alpine Bluetooth stereo hooked to Pioneer speakers. The seller purchased the car in 2024 and has since added approximately 500 miles. This R107 is now offered at no reserve with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Signal Red (568) with a color-matched removable hardtop, and the replacement black convertible soft top was installed in July 2020. Additional exterior equipment includes quad headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. Records indicate that the right-front fender and front lamp assemblies were replaced in June 2015.
Chrome-plated 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin tires. The right-rear wheel is bent, and multiple tires have sidewall cracks. The car was factory-equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 141k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.
The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. Records indicate that the water pump, thermostat, and drive belts were replaced in March 2019, and the coolant expansion tank and cap were replaced in July 2019. Alternator, exhaust, and timing chain tensioner seal replacement are noted in the Carfax report in February 2023.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The window sticker lists factory equipment, colors, options, and a total suggested retail price of $65,810. Manufacturer’s literature and service records are also included in the sale.
